Ontario Threatens Surcharge on Electricity to Three U.S. States as a Result of Trump Tariff War on Canada

Ontario, Canada’s most populous province, on Tuesday said that if U.S. tariffs persisted, it would impose a 25% surcharge on electricity exports to New York, Michigan and Minnesota. Premier Doug Ford also told reporters that Ontario would ban U.S. companies from provincial procurement contracts and was ripping up a contract with Elon Musk’s Starlink.
